SwimUtopia is headed to Ann Arbor to broadcast the first ever Michigan Water Carnival.
This first-of-its-type competition will feature the University of Michigan, University of Minnesota and Oakland University in a unique meet setting featuring 13 different fun and competitive events. The meet, created to help increase the awareness of aquatic sports, will take place Saturday (Oct. 6) at noon at the Canham Natatorium.
Highlights of the meet include:
• 50-yard underwater 'dolphin kick races
• 200-meter swims with fins attempting to break NCAA and world records,
• 16x25 relays
• 3-on-3 water polo
• A diving show
• The University of Michigan dance team
• The U-M Fanfare Pep Band
• The U-M men's singing group 'The Friars'
The swimmers won’t be the only ones enjoying a change of pace! There will be plenty of opportunities for fans to get out of their seats and get involved on the pool deck. Teaching demonstrations and autograph sessions will also be a part of the activities.
