Jasmine Tosky, a Palo Alto junior, broke the oldest girl’s high school national record in the books yesterday morning at the CIF Central Coast Section Championships.
Her time of 51.92 in the women’s 100 yard butterfly broke 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist Misty Hyman’s public school record of 52.41 by almost half-a-second. Kathleen Hersey’s time of 52.44 still stands ast the national independent high school record.
According to SwimmingWorldMagazine Tosky’s time puts her into a tie for 19th in all-time rankings.
