What is your team or schools name?
California University of PA

How long has your program been in existence?
First season was 2002-03

Does your team have any mascot or symbol?
The Vulcan, Roman god of fire

What do you expect from your swimmers this upcoming season?
That they each improve on at least one thing that will allow them to swim faster than last season.

How many swimmers do you currently have on the roster?

How many All-Americans has your program had?
9 individuals in 14 different events (individual and relay events) for All-American and 11 individuals in 11 different events (individual and relay events) for Honorable Mention All-American

How many individual conference champions has your team had?
5 individuals have won 9 PSAC individual titles.

Is there any type of practice or dry land practice that your team enjoys more than others?
They will probably disagree with me but they really seem to enjoy the weight room sessions under the direction of strength coach Bobby Sepesy. Plus, the women really benefit from the 2 x per week yoga work done with assistant coach Jess Siegele.

Is there any particular team moment that stands out in your mind from coaching?
Finishing third at PSAC’s in 2009 and seeing how excited the women were and having our AD present to experience it with us.

What is the biggest meet that your team has qualified swimmers for?
NCAA II’s, USS Senior Nationals

Does your team have any motto or philosophy?
Probably to do the absolute best you can each and every time the opportunity to do something great is presented. We also recently began discussing Steve Prefontaine’s statement “To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift” and what it may mean for each member of the team.
