Hello FasterSwimming subscribers
We are upgrading our weekly workouts to a monthly email and adding 8 videos. Four of the videos will be actual sets that correspond to the
23 weeks FasterSwimming book and 4 of the videos will be dryland demonstrations. We are offering you an upgrade to your subscription for $19.95 monthly. Please email brad@fasterswimming.com .
We are beginning with Weeks 7,8,9 and 10 of the 23 Week book starting this month(November 2009). This corresponds with the States that begin the High School season in November with Championships in March. This will continue every month thereafter with video from the 23 Week swimming and dryland workouts. You always have the option to purchase back workouts either dryland or swimming just email your request to brad@fasterswimming.com .
There are two swimming videos for each set. The first video explains the set as written and the second shows swimmers actually swimming the set with commentary. If a set is written for multiple repeats the set will only be shown one time through the set. If there are any questions please ask. The swimmers in the videos are of different abilities and levels of development in the sport. All sets are written for National level High School and Collegiate athletes and can be adjusted easily for all levels.
First two videos are from Week 7 Workout 2 Set 1:
This is a freestyle set working on Variable Speed, Stroke Counts and Race Pace. I made one error regarding Race Pace for the 200 freestyle.
:26 per 50 free is Race Pace for a 1:44 200 free swim.
Next videos are from Week 8 Workout 3 Set 3:
This is a short high quality sprint set using Tarzan to develop speed and power. This set should be used after a long workout anytime during the season.
Next videos are from Week 9 Workout 5 Set 4:
This high quality set from the block is under the coaches control based on your athletes. Do the best you can to administer as written. Be flexible with the rest needed for this set.
Last videos are from Week 10 Workout 1 Set 3:
This Back/Breast IM transition set helps athletes understand how to swim the 400IM. This set workouts on Variable Speed work and split per 50.
